The All American Rejects
Self Titled

"It's hook-filled pop-rock on steroids with heavenly harmonies by Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter, most memorably so on 'Swing, Swing' and 'One More Sad Song,'" Alternative Press observed of the record (November 2002).

It isn't often you hear of anything about or coming out of Oklahoma, other than our friends from True Doxology.  But finally, the Okies have been put on the map with The All American Rejects.  Let me be the first to admit, I am NOT a fan of pop punk, but these guys are more than that.  They have an indie flare with plenty of guitar riffs and bass lines to even keep the hard rockers happy.  Now also let me add this is no way one of the best albums I have ever listened to but it was enjoyable.  They have been given a lot of comparisons to Weezer and I just don't see that as accurate.  The biggest thing to note is their is not a single word or line of anything that can be taken as off color or objectionable.  There are eleven heart felt tracks and ten of those songs deal with the fact they are all American rejects.  The songs deal with much of the same pop punk love songs that you would expect.  This cd gets a "G" rating and that is VERY seldom done.  After listening to the CD it makes you hope that these rejects will finally get some gals in their young lives to make them sing happier songs.  So if you are just looking for a good cd to mildly rock out to then I feel free letting this cd be a hand off.
