12 Stones
Self Titled: 12 Stones

Offensive words: NONE
Genre: rock/hard rock/rap rock

July 2002 CCM Magazine: "We want to bring a positive light back to rock," Paul McCoy reveals.  "We want to teens to look to us as positive role models."
12 Stones is currently touring with Creed.  This band does not claimed to be a Christian band but from everything I have read, leads me to believe they themselves ARE Christians.  The CD, Self Titled, is an aggressive, straight forward rock with plenty of guitars!  Just because a band does not proclaim the Christian title does not mean they can not spread Christ through their personal lifestyles.  12 Stones seems to be that type of band.  But if they are then WHY would they say, "...we do not, nor will we ever, try to persuade anybody to embrace what we as individuals believe."  As Christians, we are to do this daily!

Is 12 Stones a "Christian band?" What are their beliefs?
From Paul McCoy:
"Each of us have our own strong, personal, spiritual relationship with God, but we do not, nor will we ever, try to persuade anybody to embrace what we as individuals believe. Each and every person makes a choice that as we all know is personal. Our music is positive and deals with surviving challenging experiences in life. From life itself, we found inspiration and knowledge that offered the wisdom that no matter how bad it gets, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

What does the name 12 Stones mean?
The name is a biblical reference. There were 12 Stones in the Hoshen, the breastplate that was first worn by the High Priest Aaron. According to the book of Exodus, the stones were Ruby, Garnet, Citrine, Blue Topaz, Topaz, Sapphire, Peridot, Onyx, Emerald, Diamond, Amethyst and Aquamarine. The Stones represent each of the 12 tribes of Israel. The number 12 also has significance in the New Testament - Jesus has 12 apostles.

The CD is full of references to God.  There are no offensive or questionable topics and would encourage you to check out this band.  One bit of warning, because they do not claim to be a Christian band means they are not held to a standard about future recordings.  But if they are truly Christians, then they themselves are held accountable to God.

This song is in reference to knowing Christ is with us at all times, even when things look dark and horrible.
Crash

And I feel like I'm falling
Farther every day
But I know that you're there
Watching over me
And I feel like I'm drowning
The waves crashing over me
But I know that your love
It will set me free

As I find truth where I found it times before
As I search for your hope
I'm finding so much more
And I try to be more like you
And I deny myself to prove my heart is true

I love this song.  The thought of Christ knowing that we were going to still sin and knowing that we would still deny Him at times, but yet he still gave His life for us.
Broken
I question why you chose to die
When you knew your truth I would deny
You look at me
The tears begin to fall
And all in all faith is blind
But I fail time after time
Daily in my sin I take your life

All the hate deep inside
Slowly covering my eyes
All these things I hide
Away from you again
All this fear holding me
My heart is cold and I believe
Nothing’s gonna change
Until I'm broken

Dealing with conviction.
The Way I Feel
‘Cause I hate the way I feel tonight
And I know I need you in my life
Yes I hate the way I feel inside
And I promise to make the sacrifice
