A Day To Remember aren’t exactly the new kids in the pit. All of the band members had played in the Ocala music scene for years until 2003, when the band in its current incarnation came together. Singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard and drummer Alex Shellnutt knew they had something special during one specific performance on a special day. “Two years ago we played a Fourth of July show in our home town,” Joshua recalls. “The kids never responded like they did that night; they sang along to every word in our songs, and everything just clicked.”

A solid pop influenced hard core album from start to finish. I'm not going to say this is the most unique or creative album but it is energetic to say the least. "The Danger in Starting a Fire" is the perfect example of all the elements this band holds dear.  With melodic pop choruses to the screeching guitars taking you through the verse.  The track even includes areas for a chant back with punk influence. Several songs focus more on the pop radio rock that is popular today like on "Monument." But no matter what the band seems to throw in their metal edge. The band shows their softer side with an acoustic influenced piano ballad on "The Price We Pay."
Musically the album is entertaining but not cutting edge.

Vocally, teh band also holds to all the style they do musically. Intense vocal growls and a great melodic voice for ballads. The vocals were much better than I had anticipated. The band takes a very strong stance for taking control and moving your life forward.

Overall, a solid album with a decent variety. Musically and vocally there isn't a lot that is unique but what they do is real and passioante.
